About Roadside Atlas
Roadside Atlas covers the practical side of RV travel in North America: what a rental actually costs once the fees land, how much battery you need before you can run a fridge for three days, and which routes are worth the drive.
How we research
Every price in an article comes from a quote we pulled ourselves, on a stated date, for a stated configuration. When we compare two rental platforms we book the same vehicle class, the same dates, and the same mileage allowance on both, and we carry the comparison through to the final checkout screen — because that is where the cleaning fees, generator charges, and insurance upsells actually appear.
We say when we have not tested something. A specification sheet is not a test, and we would rather tell you that we are reading the manual than pretend otherwise.
How we make money
Through affiliate commissions. If you book or buy through a link here, the merchant pays us a referral fee and you pay the same price you would have paid anyway. The full explanation is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
