Roadside Atlas is a reader-supported publication. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase or sign up for a service. This costs you nothing extra.

How it works

When you follow an affiliate link, a cookie is placed in your browser by the merchant or the affiliate network handling their program. If you complete a purchase within that cookie's window, the merchant credits the sale to us and pays a percentage of the sale or a fixed referral fee.

Affiliate links on this site are routed through our own /go/ addresses so that we can keep partner links up to date in one place. They are marked withrel="sponsored" in the page source, and every article containing them carries a disclosure above the article body.

Networks and partners

We participate in affiliate programs operated through impact.com, CJ Affiliate, PartnerStack, and Awin, as well as programs run directly by merchants. Partners we currently work with include RV rental marketplaces and portable power manufacturers. This list changes as programs open and close.

How this affects what we publish

Commission rates differ between merchants. We do not let that difference decide our recommendations, and we do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review or a fixed ranking position. Where a product we recommend has no affiliate program at all, we still recommend it and link to it directly.

Prices, commission structures, and product specifications change frequently. We update articles when we notice a change, but the merchant's own page is always the authoritative source. Verify the current price and terms before you buy.
